The motivation behind this project is to create an Augmented City, a new form of User Interface (UI) where the User Experience (UX) extends beyond the digital realm. It is highly defined by social interaction and integrates directly with the architectural environment. The foundation of such a city includes Media Architecture and Digital Placemaking. The rise of multimedia screens in urban settings also presents a new possibility: using interactive digital screens to tell the unique stories of a city (Urban Digital Storytelling), thereby enhancing the connection among community members. The most notable story of 2020 is that of COVID-19 and its associated racial discrimination and social pressures.
